An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Italian Locandina Movie Poster (measures approximately 13" x 27") (Learn More) Killer's Kiss, the 1955 Stanley Kubrick New York City crime film noir gangster murder thriller ("Her Soft Mouth Was the Road to Sin-Smeared Violence!"; "Exposed! The Mobs, Molls, and Mayhem of New Yorks Clip-Joint Jungle!") starring Frank Silvera, Jamie Smith, Irene Kane, Ruth Sobotka (Kubrick's wife at the time), Jerry Jarret, and Mike Dana. Note that this movie is often mistakenly referred to as Kubrick's first, but actually, he had made four previous movies (three documentary short subjects, plus the 1953 feature, "Fear and Desire", which just about no one in the world seems to have ever seen or heard of)! Apparently, all of those movies and this one were financed by Kubrick's own family, and it was with his next movie, "The Killing", that he began making traditional Hollywood movies, with real movie stars in the lead roles! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are slightly noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "Pre-Restoration Defects & Quality of Restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster was folded across the middle and there was minor wear on that foldline. There must have once been a snipe at the top of the poster that was removed, so the top blank area of the poster is uneven as to darkening. There were some very minor border defects and some faint scuff lines in the image. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, and looks great! Learn More about condition grades
