4 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

The Young Rajah, the 1922 Philip E. Rosen (billed as "Philip Rosen") silent India royalty romantic melodrama ("From the play 'Amos Judd' by Aletha Lude and the novel by John A. Mitchell"; a great story of the son of an Indian Rajah who is brought to the United States because it is feared that he will be assassinated, and he is given an American name and grows up not knowing his ancestry, and he goes to Harvard, where he is a star athlete, and he is about to be married to an American girl, but he has a vision that there is about to be an attempt on his life, and it happens, but he is rescued and told the truth about his heritage, and he goes to India, leaving his American girlfriend behind, but he is not heartbroken, because he has a vision of a future Hindu wedding with his American girlfriend as his bride) starring Rudolph Valentino (billed here under his given name "Rodolph"), Wanda Hawley, Charles Ogle, Fanny Midgley, and George Periolat. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info: Note that two of these four cards have a VERY unusual defect. Someone trimmed out the central figures from the card with the yellow background, but they did not discard the remainder of the card. They also trimmed out the small figure of Valentino at lower right and some of the paper around that figure was lost as was some paper in the right of the bottom border and also to the left of the tiny kneeling figure. The card with the light blue background was also trimmed and a significant portion of the right and the top right of the image were lost. Obviously either of these cards could be restored, but it would be a complicated restoration that would require recreating portions of both cards. The card with the red background has paper loss in the bottom right corner that slightly affects the bottom of the image. The card in the lower left of our image has very little paper loss, but has some smudges and stains in the top right background area. Please look closely at our super-sized images of all four cards before bidding on any of them.

Condition: fair. Two of the cards are trimmed in odd ways and have paper loss (see above). The other two cards have defects described above, but are in clearly better condition than the other two. All four cards have some staining and other border defects, so bear all of this in mind before bidding on this group of four cards.
