She was married to Al Jolson, and their marriage was the basis for the several versions of "A Star is Born" and "The Jolson Story" (but Keeler refused to allow the producers to use her name). Some of her movies include: Gold Diggers of 1933, Footlight Parade, 42nd Street, Wedding Planner, That's Dancing, and Dames AND Anne Shirley was an actress from the 1920s to the 1940s. She was born Dawn Eveleen Paris but her mother gave her the name Dawn O'Day early in her career. She changed her name to Anne Shirley during the summer of 1934 after she had been chosen to play the character with the same name in RKO's Anne of Green Gables.
