An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

Rocketship X-M ("*Expedition Moon"), the 1950 Kurt Neumann science fiction (sci-fi) space thriller ("The screen's First story of man's conquest of space!"; "Expedition Moon"; "The Future is Here!"; "See Strange planets! Strange People! See Man's greatest dream come true! See a moon's-eye view of the Earth!") starring Lloyd Bridges, Osa Massen, John Emery, Noah Beery Jr., Hugh O'Brian, and Morris Ankrum. Note that, because of post-production issues (and the fact that this movie was rushed though production in 18 days) this film beat George Pal's Destination Moon to theaters by a few weeks, and became the "screen's first story of man's conquest of space".

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have sold other examples of this poster, and they have an asterisk printed after the title, with a horizontal box under the title that explains that the title means "Expedition Moon". Yet this one-sheet has the asterisk and that box blanked out with a blue color, and it is clearly in the actual printing. Perhaps this is an alternate style one-sheet (perhaps they decided that explaining the title like that was wrong to do, and so they printed a new batch of one-sheets with that area blotted out). We have previously auctioned another example of this style, but it definitely appears to be more rare than the one with the extra printing. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: good. The poster has many creases scattered throughout (especially along the folds). It has slight discoloration scattered mainly in the lower half and some other defects that can be clearly seen in our super-sized image. After proper restoration the poster could display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
