He was known as the "King of Country Music" and helped make the format internationally successful. He had an unsuccessful bid for Governor of Tennessee in 1948 and in 1962, Acuff became the first living inductee into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Some of his works include: Songs of the Smoky Mountains, Hymn Time, and I Saw The Light. He passed away in 1992 at the age of 89. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
