An Autographed 1 1/2" x 2 1/4" Matchbook Cover (Learn More) Robert Ryan was an actor from the 1940s to the 1970s, sometimes in lead roles, and sometimes in important secondary roles. Some of his movies include: About Mrs. Leslie, The Wild Bunch, Crossfire (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), The Set-Up, Bad Day at Black Rock, The Professionals, and The Dirty Dozen. He passed away in 1973 at the age of 73. Important Added Info: This matchbook cover has been personally autographed (signed) by Robert Ryan (obviously the person who acquired the autograph met Mr. Ryan by chance and had no paper to offer him to sign, so they ripped off the cover of a matchbook and had him sign the back of it!). The matchbook cover could be matted with a vintage or repro still and framed together to make a cool display! Note that this item has been trimmed and it now measures 1 1/2" x 2 1/4" [4 x 6 cm]. Note that our consignor has been a memorabilia dealer for the past 30 years, and he tells us that he is certain this autograph is authentic. He says that he will give the new purchaser 30 days to be certain (perhaps they might want to get it authenticated), and that if the new buyer has any doubts, they can return this item within 30 days (but after 30 days, his warranty will expire, and at that point, the item will no longer be returnable). Condition: good. Mr. Ryan signed over the red writing on the back of the matchbook cover and it was once taped to something, and there are tape stains that affect part of his signature.
