Note that Jane Arden's play has been called the "first theatre work to come out of the Women's Liberation Movement in Britain when it was staged at the Drury Lane Arts Lab in 1969" Artist: Alan Aldridge Important Added Info: Note that this poster is by the same artist (Alan Aldridge) who created one of the most memorable English posters of the 1960s and 1970s, Andy Warhol's Chelsea Girls! This poster has a similar concept of a nude woman with a mechanical-like body, and this poster is even MORE rare than Chelsea Girls, so rare that many people don't know it exists! Not only have we never auctioned it before, but it is very hard to find any examples of it on the internet. We found a different version that has a different printer from this poster (Motif Editions), and we think this poster predates the Motif Editions one, which is possibly a commercial version (a similar situation exists with the Chelsea Girls posters) but we can't say for 100% certain, so bear this uncertainty in mind before bidding on this incredibly rare poster. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this poster is mounted to a very heavy board and must be sent in a flat package that measures 22" x 32" so bear the added shipping expense in mind before bidding. Finally note that this item contains some nudity, so we have placed a white bar over those areas for those who are bothered by such images. Of course, the actual item does not have the white bars. Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It was mounted on to a heavy board and framed. It has scuffs around the edges and the black borders likely caused by matting and a few small scuffs scattered in the image (see our image). Learn More about condition grades
