An Original Vintage Theatrical Spanish Movie Campaign Book (measures 11 1/4" x 14 1/4" [29 x 36 cm]; 58 pages) (Learn More) Paramount Pictures 1934-35, the 1934 Spanish spiral-bound campaign book sent to theater owners to encourage them to show Paramount movies. Note that while this Spanish campaign book is similar to the 1934-35 U.S. campaign book (both are spiral-bound, and this book is slightly larger than the U.S. one), this book does NOT have all the same movies advertised as in the U.S. campaign book (although it does have several that area, like "The Scarlet Empress"). This is almost surely because some of the U.S. movies did not arrive in Spain until the following year (or two)! However, this book has lots of ads for upcoming Paramount movies (all the ads are in Spanish, and they are one and two-page spreads), and they include Bolero, Sitting Pretty, Million Dollar Legs, Six of a Kind, I'm No Angel, Cleopatra, and many more (and in some cases, the ads are the same as the U.S., but in some cases, they are completely different). Spanish versions of U.S. campaign books are even more rare than the U.S. ones, surely because of the massive paper shortages in Europe during World War II. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Spanish campaign book! Condition: good. There is much staining on the covers and the back cover is separated. There is paper loss in the top right corner of the cover and the first interior page, and it affects the text on the first two interior pages (but the cover areas were blank). There is a paper sheet inserted between the pages for Cleopatra that likely was put in intended to protect those pages, but ironically has caused them to darken (see our image).
