Selznick"; "Screenplay by Ben Hecht"; there was an earlier version of this movie with Gary Cooper and Helen Hayes) starring Rock Hudson, Jennifer Jones, Vittorio De Sica (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Oscar Homolka, and Mercedes McCambridge. Note that originally, John Huston was scheduled to direct this movie. However, he wanted the producer, David O. Selznick, to give him a bigger budget, and he left the movie after a few months.
