Cirque Ancillotti Plege (literally translates to "Ancillotti Plege Circus" and sometimes known simply as "Cirque Ancillotti"), one of many 1920s French circus posters promoting a show, and featuring artwork of circus clowns, animals, and other performers. Note that the Plege circus was well-known in France in the 1900s. After the death of Antoine Plege, his widow and then his son ran the show. In 1908, Plege's daughter married Ugo Ancillotti and they eventually created the Cirque Ancillotti Plege.
Artist: Roger Soubie
Important Added Info: Note that these are extremely rare pre-World War II French posters, with super early Roger Soubie art (perhaps one of his first posters, and surely from very early in his career), and we have only previously auctioned one example in all our years of auctioning! Virtually no French posters survive from before, during, or right after World War II. Apparently there were many paper shortages in France during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all pre-World War II posters! Included in this lot are THREE examples of this rare poster!

Condition: fair to good.
