He founded Push Pin Studios in 1954 with fellow artists Milton Glaser, Edward Sorel, and Reynold Ruffins. Chwast designed the first McDonald's Happy Meal box, and is known for his commercial artwork, which includes posters, food packaging, magazine covers, and publicity art. As of 2021, Chwast is still alive at the age of 89! It is an iconic image of the 1960s, and the producers of the highly acclaimed AMC cable series "Mad Men" were looking for a poster that represented the late 1960s to have hanging on the wall in one scene, and they located an original example of this poster, and did just that in one episode!
