Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except slightly heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards.

Condition: very good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had the regular three horizontal folds. There was a diagonal crease that ran slightly above the left side of the top foldline (approximately 3/4" at its widest point), and crossed over the top foldline and ended on the right border (approximately 1/2" below the right end of the top foldline). There was a second fold across the middle approximately 1/4" below the regular middle foldline and some creases above and below the bottom foldline. There were pinholes in the corners and creases, smudges, some tiny tears, and some tiny areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster, and in the white background area in-between the two images. The person who restored the poster mostly put new blank white paper over the blank borders (but not the writing at the bottom of the poster) and in the background area behind the credits in the white area between the two images. This was really wonderfully done, and I would say that the vast majority of collectors would not be able to realize this, even if they studied the poster closely. Covering over the blank white borders with new paper is a common restoration technique, and most collectors don't consider it nearly as significant as even small restoration in the image area, as only blank white area is affected, and it greatly improves the appearance of the poster (the alternatives are to paint over all of the blank white borders, or to touch up all of the defects in the blank white borders, and both of those techniques are far more distracting to your eye than adding new paper, as long as it is expertly done). Other than the new paper, there was restoration on the rough folds, and some very slight touch up in other parts of the images. I have looked at many thousands of restored posters, and this poster in no way has a "restored" look to it, and to me, that is the best possible restoration, and there really IS little restoration within the image area!

IN THIS SPECIAL HALLOWEEN AUCTION, we have given a more detailed overall condition grade along with more details about the condition described in words. Of course, we could not describe every single defect, plus there are some defects (like separation on folds, tape on the back, extremely tiny pinholes, etc) which can be VERY difficult to see, even in our largest "super-sized" image. Therefore we strongly recommend that you BOTH read our written description of the item, AND ALSO look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the poster for minor defects that we did NOT describe.
