An Original Vintage Australian Campaign Book (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]; 32 pages) (Learn More)

Columbia Pictures 1937-1938, the 1937 Australian campaign book sent to theater owners to encourage them to show Columbia movies. It contains 32 pages with mostly full-page ads for upcoming Columbia movies, including The Awful Truth, You Can't Take It With You, The Second Mrs. Draper, Paris on Broadway, and more, and there are full-page ads for stars making movies for Columbia, including Carole Lombard and Jack Holt, plus Frank Capra received a two-page spread! Near the back of the book is an ad promoting that Columbia had signed Edward G. Robinson to do a movie for them. There is a full-page ad for Columbia shorts, including Krazy Kat and Scrappy, plus a two-page ad with headshots of all of Columbia's stars. The above describes the 1937-38 Australian Columbia campaign book. As of 2021, we have never auctioned even one example of the U.S. 1937-38 campaign book, so we don't know if this book is similar to the U.S. one!
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Australian campaign book! As noted above, we have also never auctioned the U.S. version of this book, and both are clearly incredibly rare!

Condition: good to very good. There are many creases, scuffs, smudges, and stains on the covers, with some tiny paper loss around the edges and two tears on the back cover. The interior pages have a few smudges, creases, and scuffs (see our many images).
