An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Chapter #14 (Flames) One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

The Lure of the Circus, the 1918 J.P. McGowan silent action adventure circus serial ("The stupendous Universal serial") starring Eddie Polo, Eileen Sedgwick (one of the only true cowgirl stars of the silent era, she had starred in serials for years, and when westerns became popular in the mid-1920s, she starred in several of those), Molly Malone, Harry Carter, and Noble Johnson. Note that Eileen Sedgwick replaced Molly Malone, who had starred in the first five chapters, when Malone had to have an emergency appendectomy.

Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this or ANY other one-sheet movie posters from this title!

Condition: poor to fair. The poster has paper loss in the bottom that extends into the end of the title and the director credit. It has a few small areas of paper loss around the edges and paper loss near the center of the image. The poster had been crumpled and torn in a large number of places. Someone laid the pieces next to each other face down as if it were a jigsaw puzzle, and they put a large number of tiny pieces of tape on back of all of the tears. There is paper loss, tiny and larger, along some of the tears, most notably in the man's nose at top center and two areas near the middle of the poster, but there are also others. Obviously a talented restorer could "rescue" this poster, but bear its many, many defects in mind before placing a bid (and look closely at our super-sized image).
