An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) A Baby Doll Bandit, the 1920 Fred Hibbard (billed as "Fred C. Fishback") silent chimpanzee ape cowboy western comedy ("It's a Universal-Jewel") starring Mrs. Joe Martin (billed as "The famous monkey comedian Mrs. Joe Martin"), Jimmie Adams, and Edith Roberts. Note that "Joe Martin" was a male chimp trained by Curly Stecker and his wife in 1916, who appeared in some comedy shorts that year and the following year. They (and the actors who appeared opposite the chimp) quickly learned that male chimps are very aggressive and prone to biting! So Stecker acquired a female chimp and named her "Mrs. Joe Martin" and she starred in several comedy shorts in 1919 and 1920. If anyone knows more about either of these chimps or their movies, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a scene lobby card from this movie (and NO other movie paper) until we received this title card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. There are many stains, smudges, pinholes, and small paper loss around the edges, but fortunately, very little affects the image area. See our super-sized images to get a good sense of the exact condition of this card. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
