An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Flying Fortress, the 1942 Walter Forde U.S./English World War II (WWII) B-17 bomber airplane aviation romantic love triangle action thriller ("Blazing from the screen... Out of the Blazing skies!"; "Drama written in flames and told with the staccato of cannon-fire!"; "So packed with drama and realism, the British Army assigned Richard Greene to return to the screen in this once in a war-time role!"; about a rich playboy who is a stunt pilot, and he volunteers to transport B-17 bombers, called "flying fortresses", from the U.S. to England, and during the process, he finds out what is important in life) starring Richard Greene, Carla Lehmann, Betty Stockfield, Donald Stewart, Charles Heslop, Sidney King, and Basil Radford. Amazingly, this was based on a true story, about New Zealand RAF pilot Sergeant James Allen Ward, whose plane caught fire, and he actually climbed out onto the wing and put the fire out, earning the Victoria Cross! Noted English actor Richard Greene was in the service at this time, but he was released from duty long enough to play the lead in this movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. masking tape on the back of nearly all the folds and some of the borders that slightly bleeds through to the front; there are some tears in the folds as well as separation caused by the tape; the folds are somewhat fragile This one-sheet is in "lesser" condition (what many dealers would describe as "good" or "good to very good", or in the case of items with more serious defects, which should be easily seen on our large images, "fair")! It has clear defects, which are likely to be very noticeable in our "large" or "super-sized" images that you can click on from our small image at right. In addition, we have also noted in words what these defects are in our "Description of Defects" section above, as some of these defects may not be all that visible in the images (looking at the super-sized image will likely tell you right away whether it is in "good to very good", "good", or "fair" condition). We know that some collectors could accept this item's defects, and display it as is, and we also know that many collectors would only be happy with this one-sheet if they had it restored, so please do not bid on it unless you can accept it as it is, or are willing to pay to have it properly restored. Of course, you should realize that if you do not bid on this one-sheet because of its condition defects, it may be quite some time before you see this one-sheet offered again!
