An Original 1973 Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 25" x 36" [64 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Gerard Damiano's Deep Throat, the classic 1972 Gerard Damiano sexploitation movie ("How far does a girl have to go to untangle her tingle?") starring Linda Lovelace, Harry Reems, Dolly Sharp, Bill Harrison, William Love, and Carol Connors. Of course, this was the first x-rated hardcore movie that "crossed over" and was seen by general audiences, and it opened the floodgates for many, many more such movies, and it definitely has a significant place in movie history. Artist: Chin Chi Important Added Info: Note that there are two different styles of one-sheet we have seen for this movie, one with a photographic image and one with an artwork image. Given that the movie was shown in a huge number of places over the couple of years after its initial release, it seems likely that many of the posters would have been printed after the very first release of the movie. There is a photographic poster with a yellow background that is identical to that shown in the pressbook for the movie, but we do not know if there is any way to determine whether it was created in 1972, or shortly after (when the movie gained its notoriety and played across the country). The other style is THIS poster, with an artwork image. We don't know if this poster was used at the same time as the photographic poster (the art on this poster is dated 1973, but the film was not released in many places until 1973), and it certainly seems quite reasonable that it might have been used for the international release of this movie (it played all over the world in 1973). We are listing it as 1973, but not as a re-release, because the movie was certainly in continuous release during that time, and there is no saying that the photographic poster itself is not from 1973. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. This poster measures 25" x 36" [64 x 91 cm], but it has not been trimmed. Condition: very good to fine.
