eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 4a0103 GETAWAY Japanese 29x41 1972 Steve McQueen, McGraw, Sam Peckinpah, different & rare! Date Sold 4/5/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Japanese "B1" Movie Poster (29x41; measures 28 1/2" x 40 1/2" [72 x 103 cm]) (Learn More) The Getaway, the classic 1972 Sam Peckinpah romantic crime action thriller ("Screenplay by Walter Hill"; "From the novel by Jim Thompson") starring Steve McQueen (as Doc McCoy), Ali MacGraw (as Carol McCoy), Ben Johnson (as Jack Beynon), Al Lettieri (as Rudy Butler), Sally Struthers ("as Fran"), Slim Pickens, Jack Dodson, Dub Taylor, and Bo Hopkins. Note that the source novel of this movie was pretty "unfilmable" as written (especially the ending!), but Walter Hill did an excellent job adapting it, and while it is not the same story, it is in many ways faithful to the original, and it is certainly one of the best movies of its kind ever made! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Masukawa Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Note that this Japanese "B1" poster measures 28 1/2" x 40 1/2" [72 x 103 cm]! "B1" posters are FAR more rare than "B2" posters (which measure approximately 20" x 28 1/2"), and because they are larger (similar in size to a U.S. one-sheet), they are more impressive when displayed on a wall! Condition: good. The poster has spotty discoloration scattered in some areas from exposure to moisture (somewhat more so in the right half). It is otherwise "all there" and could be restored, but see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
