An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36") (Learn More) T-Bird Gang, the 1959 Richard Harbinger (billed as "Richard Horberger") Ford Thunderbird car automobile teen rebellion crime thriller ("The one year out of high school crowd - fast cars, girls... No place to go!";"The kid who showed the big time show!"; produced by Roger Corman; about a teen whose father is a guard at a warehouse, and he is murdered by a gang robbing the warehouse, and the son goes undercover and joins the gang, while working for the police, to get evidence that will avenge his father's death) starring John Brinkley, Ed Nelson, Pat George, Tony Miller, and Coleman Francis. Note that this movie (which is considered one of the best juvenile delinquent films of the 1950s) prominently features a classic 1958 Ford Thunderbird (T-Bird) convertible car (automobile)! Also note that Jack Nicholson, who had just starred in producer Corman's "The Cry Baby Killer" was on the set when they were taking publicity photos, and he posed for some of them, even though he was not in the movie! He is featured on U.S. posters (the man at the center of the group of three at left), lobby cards, and stills. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had a light vertical crease down much of the right 1/4 of the poster. There were many minor border defects, and several tears and small areas of paper loss in the blank borders. Overall, the image area was in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed (but the restorer did not address the border defects, likely assuming they would not show when the poster was framed), and the poster would display well!
