A Series Two Universal Studios Monsters Action Figure (measures 3" x 8 3/4" x 14" [8 x 22 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Phantom of the Opera, the classic 1925 Rupert Julian Universal silent Paris France opera house murder mystery horror thriller ("Carl Laemmle presents Gaston Leroux's magnificent story of Parisian gaiety and intrigue"; "Weird! Wild! Wonderful!"; from the novel by Gaston Leroux, which was published in a serialized format in 1909 and 1910) starring Lon Chaney Sr. (in the title role as Erik, The Phantom), Norman Kerry (as Vicomte Raoul de Chagny), Mary Philbin (as Christine Daae), Arthur Edmund Carewe (as Ledoux), Gibson Gowland (as Simon Buquet), Carla Laemmle (uncredited as one of the ballerinas), Alexander Bevani, and "5000 others". Note that this movie was remade in 1943 with Claude Rains as the Phantom and Susannah Foster as Christine. In 1986, Andrew Lloyd Webber made a musical stage play version, which is perhaps the most successful stage play of all time, and is still running on Broadway! In 2004, Webber's musical was made into a movie, with Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum. Also note that as they did with many of their major productions at this time, Universal created two completely different sets of lobby cards, with different designs and two title cards, so there are sixteen first release cards, two sets of eight. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this item needs to be shipped in a box, which might be a fairly small box, or might be a larger box. What is important for the bidders to know is that this item very likely CAN'T be combined with other purchases, because there would not be much savings if any, because this item will be in a box with substantial depth (because the item is "three-dimensional"), while other purchases will be in a flat package, and trying to combine them would likely damage this item. If you purchase multiple items like this (ones that need to be packed in a box), then they likely can be combined with each other (unless the resulting box is simply too large). So please bear in mind that this item likely must be sent separately in a box (the size and depth of the box will depend on the size of the item), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it (so if you would pay $150 for the item, but the shipping is likely $100, then only bid $50 for the item). Condition: good to very good. The blister packaging has come loose from the cardboard packaging but it does not appear to have an effect on the figure itself. Learn More about condition grades
