Date Sold 3/13/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Promotional 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Still (Learn More) Ginger Rogers (born Virginia Katherine McMath) was a highly successful actress from the 1930s and 1970s, who would have had a great career even if she hadn't appeared in ten movies where she was paired with Fred Astaire, although that is what she is best remembered for today! Some of her movies include: Top Hat, Gold Diggers of 1933, Swing Time, Stage Door, 42nd Street, The Gay Divorcee, The Major and the Minor, Shall We Dance, Kitty Foyle (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Kitty Foyle), and Follow the Fleet! She also had a successful Broadway career. Ginger passed away in 1995 at the age of 83. Important Added Info: Note that this is a 1930s promotional photo. It is NOT an 8" x 10" still. It is printed on a slightly thinner paper stock and it has a FACSIMILE autograph that is within the printing (it has NOT been personally autographed). Some of these were sent to theaters, but sometimes they were ordered by businesses and passed out on the street like movie heralds, and this particular one was ordered in quantity by the J.C. Penney company to promote their "Ginger Rogers Sandal (the smartest footwear ever made)"! Condition: good to very good. There are a few tiny smudges and tiny tears in the blank borders, with a few tiny creases scattered in the image and six tiny black dot stains in Rogers' chest (see our image).
