An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 40 3/4" x 76") (Learn More)

The Girl of the Timber Claims (also released as "The Girl of Timber Claim"), the 1917 Paul Powell silent mistaken identity melodrama (from the story "The Girl Homesteader" by Mary H. O'Connor) starring Constance Talmadge, Allan Sears, Clyde E. Hopkins, Beau Byrd, and Wilbur Higby

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: This three-sheet was printed in 3 sections.

Condition: good. The poster had many creases, scuffs, and some tears down the center of the image, and some scattered throughout the image. The bottom 1/3 of the poster appears to have darkened considerably, judging by the borders, but it is difficult to tell (I suppose the writing was once a pure white). The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. I do not know if another restorer could touch up this poster without re-backing it, or if it would need to be re-backed.

This poster was linenbacked, and it had significant defects which were only somewhat repaired during the linenbacking process, or were not repaired at all (we describe both the defects as well as the quality of the restoration below, and based on those comments, you can easily determine which type of poster it is). You should also look at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!).
