An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Truth About Sex (also released as "The Truth About Sex"), the 1928 Dwain Esper sexploitation sex education pseudo documentary short. Note that it is not surprising that this movie was quite controversial! Earlier in 1928, "The Road to Ruin" was released and was banned in New Jersey, and possibly other states. The New Jersey officials were invited to a private showing of this movie, and they agreed that, unlike the earlier movie, this movie deserved to be seen by the general public, and they announced that in newspaper headlines! If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that 1928 movie paper from this short is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this short until we received this lobby card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. There is a 3" tear at bottom center that was repaired with tape from the back. There is a stain in the lower left of the image, with diagonal scuff lines in the upper left and lower right black background areas. There is slight darkening around the edges, with two tiny tears in the top blank border. See our super-sized images to get a good sense of the condition of this card. In spite of this card's defects, it still displays pretty well just as it is, and I think any collector would likely be happy to display it as it is. But certainly, another option would be to have restoration performed. Either way, the new owner will have an incredibly rare and cool item to display on their wall! Learn More about condition grades
