An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Window Card (WC; measures 11 3/4" x 15 3/4" [30 x 40 cm]) (Learn More) The Devil's Trademark, the 1928 James Leo Meehan silent family relationship genetics crime melodrama ("From the story 'Pedigree' by Calvin Johnston"; an unusual story dealing with heredity; a pair of crooks marry and have children, and they agree to "go straight" for the sake of their children, but the husband feels that criminal tendencies are inherited, so he thinks their children are doomed to be crooks as well!; when he later discovers his daughter apparently stole a lot of money, he is ready to start stealing himself again, but then he discovers that the money she had came from her fiance, and he realizes his entire theory was wrong) starring Belle Bennett, William V. Mong, Ena Gregory, William Bakewell, and Patrick Cunning NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this window card! Note that this window card has much light staining (see our image). Because the staining is significant, but can be hard to see from the front of the card, we also photographed the back of the card as well as the front, because sometimes the staining shows better on the back, and that will let bidders better know what restoration this card needs. We didn't do this on all the window cards we are currently auctioning, just ones where we thought seeing the back would be helpful, like this one. Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 11 3/4" x 15 3/4" [30 x 40 cm]. Condition: poor. The card was found in the back of a frame where it had been used as a backing board for a picture (many framers in the 1920s and 1930s would use window cards for this purpose, and they would trim them to the size of the frame, not caring that they were cutting into the image!). In this case, the trimming, which was to 11 3/4" x 15 3/4" [30 x 40 cm], affects the right and top of the card, and you can see what is missing by looking at our image. Since most of the title, image, and credits remain, I would think many people could display this card as is, but please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
