An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Go West, the 1940 Edward Buzzell musical Native American Indian cowboy western screwball comedy ("Rip-Roaring with Laughs, Girls, Songs!"; set in 1870) starring The Marx Brothers (Groucho Marx, Chico Marx, and Harpo Marx), John Carroll, Diana Lewis, June MacCloy, Walter Woolf King, Robert Barrat, and Mitchell Lewis

Artist: Al Hirschfeld

Condition: fair to good. The card once had a snipe over the title, and when it was removed, it left black in that area (but you could see the title through it). There were many pinholes, stains, and some tears around the edges, with paper loss in the top left corner and in the left blank border. There was a faint Canadian stamp in the top left and a vertical crease 4" from the right of the card. The card was in "fair" condition prior to restoration. A talented restorer gel backed the card (meaning they backed the card onto a gel material) and they then performed restoration to the above defects, and then removed the gel backing, with no backing at all. You can tell that the card has had restoration, so bear this in mind before placing a bid on this really cool card! One might wish they could find this card in better condition, but this is the only example of this card we have ever seen (we auctioned it prior to restoration, and the buyer had it restored, and has reconsigned it years later).
