An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More) Greenwich Village, the 1944 Walter Lang New York City romantic musical ("Suggested by a story by Frederick Hazlitt Brennan"; "Lyrics & Music by Leo Robin & Nacio Herb Brown"; set in 1922, about a young man who wants to be a composer of classical music, and he moves to New York City, but he ends up involved with a bunch of people putting on a musical revue) starring Carmen Miranda, Don Ameche, William Bendix, Vivian Blaine ("The Cherry Blonde"), Felix Bressart (he had a memorable role in Lubitsch's "The Shop Around the Corner"), Tony & Sally DeMarco, The Revuers (a musical ensemble who only appeared in this movie), Adolph Green, Betty Comden, and Judy Holliday (in her second uncredited movie role as one of the Revuers!; her first appearance was as an extra six years before this, and she does not appear on any advertising for that movie, but she does prominently appear on one of the lobby cards for this movie) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had paper loss at the top crossfold and tiny paper loss at the bottom two crossfolds. There were tiny tears and tiny areas of paper loss in the top 1/4 of the vertical foldline. There were small tears and small areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
