An Original Vintage Theatrical Australian Movie Studio Campaign Book (measures 9 3/4" x 12 1/4" [25 x 31 cm]; 16 pages) (Learn More)

Honouring an industry leader!, Special Adolph Zukor Anniversary Issue, the 1937 Australian campaign book created by Paramount ostensibly to honor Mr. Zukor, founder of Paramount, and Paramount's 25th anniversary ("Mr. Adolph Zukor, founder of Paramount whom the industry the world over honors this month."), but actually, it was more likely simply published as a way to promote Paramount's upcoming movies in Australia! This campaign book contains black & white images of major upcoming Paramount films and stars including The General Died at Dawn (with Gary Cooper), Champagne Waltz (with Fred MacMurray), The Texas Rangers (with Jean Parker), My American Wife (with Ann Sothern), and more! We have included images of the covers of the book and two of the two-page spreads (and we did not make a big effort to find the best ones!). We don't know if there was a U.S. version of this campaign book published at the same time, but it seems likely that there would have been (but if so, there may be none left in existence!). Note that there is an article about Mr. Zukor inside which makes a big deal of the fact that he was still running the company he founded, and that no other Hollywood studio was still run by its founder. I imagine they would have been shocked to find out that he continued to run the company for several more decades, and that he passed away in 1976 at the age of 103!
