A Linenbacked German Special Poster (measures 23 3/4" x 33" [60 x 84 cm]) (Learn More)

The Eifelrennen was an annual German motor race, organized by ADAC Automobile Club from 1922 to 2003. At first, all vehicles were allowed (cars, motorcycles and even bicycles with supporting engines). The original track was not paved, and muddy after heavy rains. In 1924 to 1926, the races for 2 and 4 wheels were held on separate days, and classes were introduced. Still, several fatal accidents happened. The unsatisfying safety situation led to the construction of the Nurburgring circuit, which was inaugurated on June 18th of 1927. The last Eifelrennen was held in early May 2003 and currently there are no major race series cooperating with the ADAC to host a weekend as Eifelrennen.

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had an uneven 9" tear in the bottom center of the poster, running into the bottom car. It had some other tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
