An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Campaign Book (measures 11 1/4" x 14 1/2" [29 x 37 cm]; 18 pages) (Learn More)

Principal Distributing Corporation 1932-33, the 1932 studio campaign book ("Adventure Pictures") featuring images and information on upcoming Principal Distributing movies (all movies produced by Sol Lesser and Frank R. Wilson) including: Beneath the Sea, South Sea Adventures, Voodoo, Matto-Grosso, Tahiti, and more. Note that this company was formed in 1932, specifically to distribute the adventure type movies (all set in exotic locations) that were produced by Sol Lesser and Frank R. Wilson. The company has no connection to Producers Distributing Corporation, which had a very similar name. The main appeal of these movies were their exotic locations and their sometimes topless native women, and this book is filled with wonderful color ads promoting both of these attributes! This company folded in 1938, when Mr. Lesser went to work for RKO, continuing to make the same sorts of movies.

Artist: C.L. Yearsley
Important Added Info: Note that we have never auctioned this campaign book before! Note: We have 12 images of the campaign book, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 12 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 2.

Condition: very good. There is scuffing and smudges on the covers, and some tiny tears and surface paper loss around the edges of the covers (which were printed bigger than the interior pages), but otherwise, the book is in pretty nice condition!
