Note that Luneville was captured by the Germans during the 1914 Battle of Grand Couronne, but the French were able to retake the town several days later. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed onto a very thin linen with no excess, surely for conservation rather than restoration purposes.
