An Original Vintage Theatrical Chartex-Backed One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Girls Incorporated, the 1959 Barry Mahon sexploitation movie ("Models by day... playgirls at night!"; "They peddle their looks... their talents ...themselves!"; "The true story of the models racket!") starring Jeri Archer, Helen Kohn, Clelle Mahon, Maritza, and Pamela Perry. Note that the IMDb says that this movie is from 1957, but they give no reason for that. We don't think that is correct, for two reasons. The first is that the earliest newspaper ads we can find for this movie are from 1959, and there would be earlier ones if it had been released two years earlier. The second is that Barry Mahon did not start his career making sexploitation movies until 1959, so it seems much more likely that this does date from 1959, and that the IMDb is simply wrong. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this one-sheet! Note that this poster has been mounted onto a "Chartex"-like material (we are not 100% certain it is Chartex, but if not, it is something very similar. Chartex is a backing paper that is a linen-like paper, similar to the material you line drawers with. It serves its function well in that the poster is preserved, which is why many restorers other than movie poster restorers use it, but it is very difficult to impossible to remove from the back of the poster. SO DO NOT BID ON THIS POSTER UNLESS YOU CAN ACCEPT THAT IT LIKELY CAN'T BE REMOVED FROM ITS BACKING, AND WILL NEED TO BE KEPT AS IT IS (although it is not harming the poster, and it enables it to be displayed). Condition: good to very good. The poster has small paper loss at the bottom two crossfolds, with some fine surface paper loss on parts of the folds. It was mounted onto "Chartex" (see above) with no restoration, and no excess around the edges. It almost surely can't be removed from the backing, but fortunately, it is in reasonably nice condition and can certainly be displayed as it is, or one could choose to have slight fold restoration done on the poster without attempting to re-back it.
