A Linenbacked Italian Advertising Poster (measures 27" x 38 1/2" [69 x 98 cm]) (Learn More) Olimpic, the 1937 Italian advertising poster (with a tagline that translates to "very light") promoting the purchase of hats from Olimpic, located in Servi, Italy. This poster features Paolo Federico Garretto art of a hat with a running man logo. Note that this poster features the Olympic rings symbol but not in the official colors, perhaps to avoid copyright issues. We don't know if this company had any official connection with the Olympics, and perhaps they made this style of hat simply because of the similarity of their names. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Artist: Paolo Federico Garretto Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded and in nice condition prior to linenbacking. After being linenbacked, it was roughly handled, and there is now a diagonal crease in the top right corner (both in the edge of the poster and in the linen), and there are also some creases scattered around the edges that were added after the poster was backed. It still will display pretty well, but bear in mind these defects and look at our super-sized image before bidding on it. Learn More about condition grades
