Important Added Info: Note that this one of two sets of 8x10 stills (the other is from Invasion of Astro Monster) that were sent to us by the same consignor. In both cases the stills have no printing at all on the front or back other than some of the stills having a one or two digit number in the lower right corner of the image. While these COULD be U.S. stills, we think it is unlikely they are because of the lack of printing in the bottom blank border. The stills from King Kong Escapes have an important clue as to their origin, because they came together with an eight page brochure from the Toho company printed entirely in English, with a list on the back of the "overseas" cities it was for, which included four U.S. cities and seven in the rest of the world. Therefore we think it is extremely likely that both sets of stills are "Japanese export stills", meaning that they were printed in Japan and sent with brochures to the non-Japanese countries listed on the back of the brochure. But this is somewhat guesswork, so, please do not bid on these stills unless you can accept this uncertainty and if anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good to very good. Most have tiny pinholes in each corner (see our image). Four have a purple censor stamp at upper center and the vertical still with Kong raising his arm has a large tear at lower right that has been repaired with tape from the back. Please see our super-sized images to get a good sense of the condition of these items prior to placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
