What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had minor wear on the foldlines and many small tears and creases in the bottom border, with a much lesser amount of wear on the other folds. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but at some point after it was backed, it acquired water staining in the lower left border. It extends into the image background and is not very noticeable, but it has caused the poster to separate from the linen in that area. Certainly, any talented restorer could repair this, with or without re-backing the poster, but bear this defect in mind before placing a bid on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
