An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

The Red Kimono, the 1925 Walter Lang (in his directorial debut) silent crime melodrama ("A smashing exciting thrilling drama"; "Supported by an all star cast"; "A daring subject delicately handled"; "Story by Adela Rogers St. Johns"; adapted by Dorothy Arzner and produced by Dorothy Davenport) starring Priscilla Bonner, Mellie Bly Baker, Carl Miller, Mary Carr, Virginia Pearson, and Dorothy Davenport (billed as "Mrs. Wallace Reid", who is the "woman telling the story"). Note that this movie is a "white washed" version of the true story of Arizona's notorious madam, Gabrielle "Dollie" Darley (or Dardley). She allegedly murdered at least five men (some were her husbands) before moving from Prescott to Salome where her last husband also died of poisoning. Dorothy Davenport made the mistake of mentioning Dollie's name in the movie, and because she had not bought the rights to the story, Dollie won a lawsuit and Davenport was financially ruined. The Phoenix New Times has an online article about Dollie under the title "A Madam, A Murder, A Mystery".

Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: fair to good. There are pinholes in the corners and there are brown water stains around the edges of the card. A talented restorer could likely remove the staining through chemical means, and likely without backing the card. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back of the card!
