An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Other Company One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More)

The Invisible Menace, the 1938 John Farrow murder mystery crime thriller ("...the drama of a man who lived only for revenge!"; from the play "Without Warning" by Ralph Spencer Zink; about a murder on a military base, and the search to find out who did it; meanwhile, a private has smuggled in his girl so they can have a honeymoon on the island, and they provide the "comic relief") starring Boris Karloff, Marie Wilson, Eddie Craven, Regis Toomey, and Henry Kolker

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this was printed by the "other company". This was a company in the Midwest that from roughly 1936 to roughly 1941 printed its own one-sheets and lobby card sets (and a very few inserts and half-sheets) for three major studio movies (Warner Brothers, Paramount and United Artists, but no other studios). The posters and lobby cards are from the original release of the movie, and almost always have completely different artwork from the regular studio release. They never have the name of the releasing studio on the poster or any of the lobby cards. Sometimes, "other company" posters or lobby cards have images that are the equal of those from the regular studio release posters or lobby cards!

Condition: good to very good. There is 4" of horizontal separation at the bottom crossfold with tiny paper loss at the crossfold. There is a 2" vertical tear 3" above the bottom crossfold with tiny paper loss. There is a hole the size of the head of a pencil eraser in the frame of the eyeglasses Karloff is wearing (it is not so easy to see in our image, because the poster was photographed against a black background; there is a small part of that area where the poster was folded back in our image, so the hole is smaller than it appears). There is a scratch mark and a tear in the black background to the right of Karloff's chin. There is a small tear in the "b" of "Invisible" (it looks like paper loss, but actually, the paper is folded back, and it is only a tear) and a series of tiny areas of paper loss in the right end of the bottom foldline. There are pinholes around the edges of the poster. Clearly, this poster has a lot of defects, but they are truthfully all pretty minor, and after linenbacking by a talented professional, the poster will look great, and it will require little paint restoration anywhere in the image!
