Date Sold 10/6/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 13 Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) Ian Fleming's Live and Let Die, the 1973 Guy Hamilton English James Bond 007 secret agent spy espionage fantasy action adventure thriller (based on the novel by Ian Fleming; featuring the title song written by Paul McCartney & Linda McCartney, and performed by Wings) starring Roger Moore ("as James Bond"), Yaphet Kotto, Jane Seymour (as Solitaire), Clifton James (as Sheriff J.W. Pepper), Julius Harris (as Tee Hee the henchman), Geoffrey Holder (as Baron Samedi), Gloria Hendry (as Rosie), David Hedison (as Felix Leiter), and Madeline Smith NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that these stills, which were given to Nevart Apikian (see below), includes one that has been personally autographed to Miss Apikian by Roger Moore! Surely there is no chance the studio would send her or give her a signed still that was not actually signed by Roger Moore, so this signed still has wonderful provenance. In addition, all the supplements have a title page which has wonderful full-color art for the movie (see our images). Finally, note that one of the stills is a duplicate of one of the other stills, so the winner of this auction will receive 12 stills and 1 duplicate still. Note that this item is from the personal collection of Nevart Apikian, who wrote an entertainment column for the Syracuse Post Standard for nearly 50 years. It was acquired from her estate after her passing. Over the past few years, we have auctioned some of the items from her collection, but NOW, we have been consigned 57 excellent items that we are auctioning all at once, in 57 separate auctions! This collection consists of promotional materialthis columnist was sent from studios about movies that were about to open, in order to help her write a more complete review of the movies. In some cases, she was invited to special premieres and publicity events! She was often sent presskits or sets of stills, but often the studio included additional items, some of which were never sent to theaters, and were likely only sent to other columnists. This collection includes sets of stills, presskits, and other items, and all of the sets of stills and presskits come with supplements, and in some cases they have areas underlined or noted on the fronts and some have long handwritten information within by Ms. Apikian, from when she either watched the premiere or conducted interviews with people connected to the movie, in preparation writing her review. For each item, we have noted exactly what is contained in the auction, and we have noted when there are handwritten notes. While we have auctioned sets of stills or presskits from all of these movies before, many of them contain additional items that we have NEVER auctioned before (and may never auction again, given that they were likely only sent to a select group of reviewers). Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
