Sienkiewicz's work in the 1980s was considered revolutionary in mainstream U.S. comics, due to his highly stylized art that verged on abstraction and made use of oil painting, photorealism, collage, mimeography and other forms generally uncommon in comic books. Artist: Bill Sienkiewicz Important Added Info: Note that this art portfolio was published in 1981 and it consisted of a folder that had four prints in it, and the first print was signed and numbered by the artist, but the other three prints were not. The prints and the folder were contained in a printed envelope. This particular example of this art portfolio (which is 1496/1500, as is signed and numbered on the first print) has also had its outer envelope personally autographed (signed) by Bill Sienkiewicz (it is an original portfolio from 1981, but it was signed a second time on the envelope in 1983)! See our images to see the exact condition of the prints and the two signatures (one on the first print and one on the outer envelope). Condition: good to very good. One of the four plates has faint brown staining at the bottom and a little bit in the left border. One of the other three has faint darkening in the middle of the left border, and the other two are in pretty nice condition. The folder that holds the four prints has tiny areas of faint brown staining on the blank inside. The printed envelope that holds the folder and the prints has darkening and tears around the edges (see our images). Learn More about condition grades
