Date Sold 10/28/2010Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 5 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) To the Shores of Iwo Jima, the 1945 World War II (WWII) documentary short ("ACTION- and more action in the toughest fight in the war in the Pacific!"; "The toughest battle of the Pacific war!"; "Released by United Artists for the Office of War Information through the War Activities Committee, Motion Picture Industry.") featuring Harlon Block, John H. Bradley, Rene A. Gagnon, Ira H. Hayes, and President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Note that this June 1945 short was released after the battle had ended in March. Four cameramen were killed and ten were wounded while filming this documentary. Interestingly, despite already being considered an iconic photograph, the Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima image is not shown on this poster. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
