Somerset Maugham; the old story of the wife of a pilot who falls in love with his best friend, and they are both too decent to do anything about it, so the husband volunteers for a suicide mission so that the lovers can be together!) starring Kay Francis, Errol Flynn, Ian Hunter, Frieda Inescort, Herbert Mundin, and G.P. Huntley NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Years ago, some collector had this poster mounted onto foamcore. While most collectors do not like this, I have seen many posters that have been mounted on foamcore for years, and it never has any ill effects on the poster, so I am not sure why there is a bias against it! As such, the poster must be sent in a flat package, so please bear in mind the added shipping cost before bidding. Note finally that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 12 1/2" x 35" [32 x 89 cm]. Condition: fair to good. The insert was trimmed around the edges and then it was glued to foamcore (see above). It has many creases, scuffs and some areas of surface paper loss scattered in various areas throughout and someone performed amateur restoration to MANY of those areas. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above, or you are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
