the circa 1960s English Academy Cinema double-bill release of Jalsaghar (released in the U.S. as "The Music Room"), the 1958 Satyajit Ray Bengali family relationship reflections-on-growing-old melodrama (about an elderly Indian nobleman who has outlived his wife and son, and he lives alone in a deteriorating grand house, and he remembers the great times of his earlier life) starring Chhabi Biswas, Padmadevi, Pinaki Sengutpa, Gangapada Basu, and Tulsi Lahiri. Note that this movie was made by director Satyajit Ray after he completed the first two movies of the "Apu" trilogy, but before he filmed the last movie. AND Dama s sobachkoy (released in the U.S. in 1962 as "Lady With the Dog", and in other English-speaking countries as "The Lady with the Little Dog"), the 1960 Losif Kheifits Russian infidelity romantic melodrama ("Anton Chekhov's classic love story"; about a rich married Moscow banker who meets a beautiful married woman while on vacation, and they have an affair, and when they both return to Moscow with their spouses, and they resume their affair) starring Iya Sawina, Aleksey Batalov, Nina Alisova, Pantelejmon Krymov, and Yuri Medevdev. Note that this story begins with the banker seeing the woman walk her dog each day, and he dreams of having an affair with her, and of course he does!
