An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) This is America: Broadway Dimout, the 1943 RKO historical documentary ("A new release every four weeks") narrated by Dwight Weist. It took the viewers on a tour of Broadway theaters and restaurants in the heart of the "theater district". Note that the "dimout" referred to in the title was the fact that all the theaters voluntarily kept their massive neon displays off, to conserve energy during World War II! Also note that this is one of the "This is America" series of documentary short subjects that was distributed monthly by RKO between 1933 and 1951 (at least). If anyone knows more about this series, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had small paper loss at the bottom crossfolds and tiny paper loss at the top crossfold. It had some creases and tiny tears on small parts of some foldlines, with pinholes around the edges and paper loss in the center of the top blank border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
