An Original 1959 (from the first release of this movie in Japan) Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Japanese "B2" Movie Poster (measures 20" x 28 1/2" [51 x 72 cm]) (Learn More) The Barbarian and the Geisha, the 1958 John Huston historical Japan Asian political romantic adventure thriller melodrama ("The Geisha Girl They Sent to Love And to Destroy the Barbarian From the West!"; "Story by Ellis St. John"; about the first U.S. ambassador to Japan, Townsend Harris, who was appointed by President Pierce) starring John Wayne (as Townsend Harris), Eiko Ando (in the title role as the Geisha, Okichi), Sam Jaffe, So Yamamura, and Norman Thomson. Note that there is an embarrassing typo on the poster! Original author Ellis St. Joseph is billed as "Ellis St. John"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 20" x 28 1/2" [51 x 72 cm]. Condition: fair. A small portion has been trimmed around the edges of the poster and the poster has been glued to another poster. There are creases, smudges, and scuffs scattered throughout and slight discoloration due to the glue used. It could probably be removed from the other poster by a competent restorer, however, please bear in mind the cost of restoration prior to placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
