A 1947 Re-release Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #6 (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) The Painted Desert, the 1931 Howard Higgin cowboy western (about two men who find an abandoned baby and they spend the rest of their lives arguing over who should have custody) starring William Boyd (billed as "Bill Boyd"), Helen Twelvetrees, William Farnum, J. Farrell MacDonald, and Clark Gable (in his very first real movie; he played a villain!). Note that Gable had appeared in 13 movies between 1923 and 1926, but all in uncredited roles, and he became disillusioned and went to Broadway, where he achieved success. He had one more uncredited role in 1930, but most people consider this his first "real" movie, because he played the lead villain. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good. card has darkened slightly with age (more so around the edges); 1" diagonal crease in the man's chest at center as well as minor creases, smudges, and scuffs throughout the card (more so around the edges); tack holes in each corner with some paper loss in the lower left blank corner from rough removal (repaired with paper and tape from the back) Learn More about condition grades ![]()
