An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Window Card (WC; measures 14" x 22 1/4" [36 x 57 cm]) (Learn More)

The Big Shot, the 1931 Ralph Murphy romantic love triangle business investment melodrama ("He makes stocks rise - and women fall!"; about a pretty hapless guy who invents a puncture proof tire, and a vamp makes a play for him, which almost causes him to forsake his loyal girlfriend, but then his tires prove to be a bust, and his girlfriend's mom gives him money to invest in real estate, and it seems to be swampland, but it turns out to be a health spa!) starring Eddie Quillan, Maureen O'Sullivan, Mary Nolan, Roscoe Ates, and Belle Bennett. Note that apparently Eddie Quillan had a romance with Maureen O'Sullivan during the making of the movie, and wanted to marry her, but his mother forbade it. That turned out to be unlucky for Quillan, because O'Sullivan had been brought to America by Fox and then they dropped her, and she made this one movie for RKO Pathe before signing with MGM, and the next year she starred in Tarzan the Ape Man, and became a major star! Also note that Mary Nolan was a former Ziegfeld girl who was then known as "Bubbles Wilson", but she had a very troubled life, filled with scandal, and she retired from movies in 1932, not long after this movie, and was later a drug addict, and died in 1948 at the age of 43, completely forgotten.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this window card! Also note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded.

Condition: good to very good.
