An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 9 1/2" x 12 1/2" [24 x 32 cm]) (Learn More)

Colleen, the 1927 Frank O'Connor silent horse racing sports gambling romantic comedy ("Beautiful women - racing horses - love and thrills"; "Story by Randall H. Faye") starring Madge Bellamy, Charles Morton, J. Farrell MacDonald, Ted McNamara, Sammy Cohen, and Marjorie Beebe. Note that male lead Charles Morton was a handsome 20 year-old actor who seemed to have a great career ahead of him (he would soon have major roles in "Four Sons" and "4 Devils"). But apparently the coming of sound greatly hurt him (perhaps it was he who had a terrible speaking voice, and not John Gilbert!), but by 1933, he was all washed up. But unlike the vast majority of actors in a similar situation, he did not die a young tragic death. He continued acting all the way until 1966, when he passed away from a heart attack, having appeared in an amazing 157 movies, often in very minor or uncredited roles. If anyone knows more about him, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Important Added Info: Note that this lobby card has been personally autographed (signed) by Madge Bellamy (it is a vintage lobby card from 1927 that they signed in 1964)! Not only did she write a very pleasant inscription above her signature on the front of the card, but she also wrote a message to the collector on the back of the backing board, that says that she "remembers this horse well - but unpleasantly" because it was painful to ride him (see our image of the back), and she signed it again on the back! Also note that this lobby card has been trimmed and it now measures 9 1/2" x 12 1/2" [24 x 32 cm], but it was glued to an 11" x 14" backing board. Finally, note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Our consignor is a longtime memorabilia dealer who has purchased autographs several times over the past 30 years, and he feels certain that this signature is authentic.

Condition: good. The card was trimmed to 9 1/2" x 12 1/2" and it was lightly glued to an 11" x 14" backing board. It has mostly come loose from the board, except in the center (see our image). There is a message from Miss Bellamy handwritten on the back of the backing board (see above).
