Date Sold 10/25/2022 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 6 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Wajan, the 1938 Friedrich Dalsheim German Bali native tribe jungle romantic fantasy adventure melodrama ("Greater than 'Goona Goona'"; "Adapted from 'Demons of Bali'"; a pseudo-documentary created by Walter Spies, curator of the Bali Museum; the movie was intended to be educational, but included a fictional story of a son of a tribal witch who longs to be married, but his mother has cursed his village; the movie apparently did quite well at the box office, no doubt greatly aided by the brief scenes of female nude Bali girls, which were played up in all the advertising, and which was pretty obligatory in 1930s jungle documentary movies!) starring Nodonk, Wajan, Sari, Lombos, Boarang, and Rangda. Note that this movie was re-titled and re-edited from a 1933 German movie called "Insel der Damonen", which had an English-language title of "Demons of Bali". Important Added Info: Note that we have previously only auctioned two lobby cards from this movie, when they were both consigned to us thirteen years ago, and otherwise we have only auctioned a single half-sheet and no other movie paper until we were consigned these four cool lobby cards! Condition: very good. Most have some very minor edge defects (including the one with the close-up of the three women, which has a tiny tear and paper loss at upper left in the blank border. The cards are otherwise in pretty nice condition and they have no tape whatsoever on the front or back, and they never have had any restoration of any kind! Learn More about condition grades
