An Original Vintage English Film Program (measures 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" [14 x 22 cm]; 6 pages) (Learn More) Stoll Picture Theatre was an English theater in Newcastle upon Tyne from 1919 to 1974. It was originally the Tyne Theatre and Opera House before it was converted to a film theater. The theater thrived as a cinema through four decades but due to a rise in the popularity of television, the number of people going to the cinema declined during the 1960s. The Stoll attempted to counter this by cornering a select market showing X-rated films, but this did not help maintain the cinema and it closed in 1974 Important Added Info: Note that the highlight of this 1935 local theater English program has an incredible 2-page ad for the 1935 return engagement of King Kong that is very suitable for framing (see our image). Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
