An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 5 1/2" x 7 3/4" [14 x 20 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More)

The High Road, the 1915 John W. Noble silent New York City romantic love triangle worker melodrama (about a woman who is the mistress of a rich man and then she leaves him and she takes a low paying job in a shirt-waist factory, and then the rich man realizes that he truly loves her and tries to win her back, but it is not until there is a tragic massive fire at the shirt-waist factory, which the woman survives, and she is reunited with her rich lover) starring Valli Valli (billed as "The exquisite stage star in the dramatic surprise"), Frank Elliott, C.H. Brenon, and Fred L. Wilson. Note that the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire was one of the greatest disasters in New York City in 1911. This movie used that tragedy in its plot four years later! Also note that star Valli Valli was born in Germany, but educated in Europe and England, and she became a major stage star there. She signed to make movies in the mid 1910s, but she was not successful, and after four films, she returned to Europe, where she was successful once again on the stage. Sadly, she passed away in 1927 from consumption, at the age of either 45 or 52, depending on which source you believe. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.
