An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Mighty Like a Moose, the 1926 F. Richard Jones & Leo McCarey silent mistaken identity cosmetic surgery romantic marital comedy short (produced by Hal Roach; about a man with a huge overbite who is married to a woman with a huge nose, and by an amazing coincidence, they both get corrective surgery on the very same day, and then they meet each other afterwards, and amazingly, neither recognizes the other and each decides to "cheat" on their spouse with each other!; when Mr. Moose realizes she is actually his wife, he decides to "pay her back" for her "infidelity", conveniently ignoring that he is just as guilty!) starring Charley Chase (in the title role as Charley Moose; primarily remembered as a great silent comedian who appeared in 276 movies, most of them comedy shorts, Chase also directed 140 comedy shorts), Vivian Oakland (in the title role as Vivian Moose), Malcolm Denny, Ann Howe, and Charles Clary. Note that this movie is available to be seen on DVD, and viewers agree that it is one of the finest silent comedies (not surprising, given that it was one of the many comedy shorts directed by Leo McCarey, who went on to a long and distinguished career in sound movies, and that it starred Charley Chase, one of the great silent comedians, who is sadly forgotten today, except by film buffs). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this three-sheet, and it sold for $845! Also note that this three-sheet was printed in 3 sections designed to overlap. Condition: very good. There are some small brown stains on the back of part of the foldlines that were on the outside when it was fully folded, and also some small tears and tiny paper loss. This falls mostly in the top left vertical fold down to the top left crossfold, where there is small paper loss. It also affects the top horizontal fold between the top left and top center crossfolds. There are only a few tiny bits of paper loss on the rest of the folds, and the poster is otherwise in pretty nice condition. After a simple linenbacking, the poster will display wonderfully!
